About the Authors
Joy E. Macci PhD
Joy Macci, learned the lessons of Global Giving from her own unique upbringing. Her father, a decorated World War II veteran, lived permanently in the Kansas Veteran’s Hospital. Though her mother was left alone to raise three children, she still found time to volunteer for charities.
At 13, Joy started playing tennis. She earned multiple scholarships, and was one of eight players from the United States and Mexico to qualify for John Newcombe’s International Tennis Tour Team. While the trip was too costly, a tennis partner got his wealthy friends to sponsor Joy on the tour. It was during this time, Joy realized her Global Life Mission was to motivate, educate and help people discover their purpose and leave a Lasting Legacy.
Years later in college, Joy’s enthusiasm and resilience held through a tragic accident. A freak fall down a flight of stairs resulted in a skull-fracture concussion. Recovering in intensive care, going in and out of coma, and speaking in numbers, Joy found the following years full of struggle, but eventually made a remarkably full recovery.
After college, Joy joined Peter Burwash International and was an international tennis manager at luxury hotels and resorts in Florida, Hawaii and Austria. During her career, she has run national and global companies. She formed Macci International Tennis with her husband Rick Macci; trained tennis superstars Venus and Serena Williams, Jennifer Capriati and Andy Roddick; starred in “Tele-Tennis” a German tennis television-series; and built Joy of Sport, an international sports-success company.
A Global Giver at heart, Joy also created a luxury real estate and investment company, Luxury Properties International (LPI); a percentage of all LPI closings help fund global charities. Joy is also a multi-published author, a motivational speaker, and a Life Success Advisor for CEOs, executives, and athletes around the world.
